VRA Conference 2012 - Save the Date!
ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!! The 2012 VRA Conference will be taking place on 22nd and 23rd May in Birmingham. This is a key event for those in the VR or allied health professions fields and has a particular focus on growth and personal development; this year’s theme is Core Competencies in Vocational Rehabilitation. An exciting line up is planned with exhilarating and informative keynote sessions including a talk from Rachel Perkins whom you may recall from the 2010 VRA Conference in Nottingham.
Survey results: half of people would struggle on SSP for more than three months
Over half of UK workers could not survive financially for more than three months on Statutory Sick Pay and over a quarter think they would receive considerably more than the current rate an Aviva survey has found.
The findings included 65% of workers citing financial concerned as the main reason to return to work from sick leave quickly. Other reasons inlcuded regaining a sense of purpose - 28%, getting well - 21%, and providing for their familities - 16%.
Dyslexie, a typeface for people with dyslexia
A typeface has been developed specifically for people with dyslexia which is called Dyslexie. The University of Twente undertook research into the typeface found that it decreased the amount of reading errors for people with dyslexia.
