BBC searches for new disabled presenters
The BBC has launched a search for new disabled presenters, 'PresentAble'. Applications close at the end of January and selected applicants will then be invited to screen tests. 6-10 will be selected for training from the BBC Academy to develop their skills and help them compete for BBC roles.

Seminar: Neuro Rehab @ RNHRD 18th January
The seminar is taking place at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases between 1:30 and 3:30. VRA Chair Professor Andrew Frank will be speaking on the Vocational Rehabilitation Experience in Britain and a Vision for the Future. Other topics include Vocational Rehabilitation after Brain Injury: Models and Services and Disability Law – An Employer’s Perspective on Supporting Staff.
Seminar: How to improve specialist employment services for disabled people
City University, London, is hosting a seminar on 'How to improve specialist employment services for disabled people' presented by Liz Sayce OBE, Chief Executive of Disability Rights UK. It takes place on Tuesday 14th February from 1pm to 2:15.
Vocational Rehabilitation Masters level Module at the University of Salford
The University of Salford's Master level vocational rehabilitation module is due to commence shortly. Applications should be received by 27th January.
The course is aimed at anyone who works with patients, clients or employees who are struggling to stay in work or return to work following illness or injury; or anyone who manages disability in the workplace.
Vocational rehabilitation survey - please participate
York St John University is conducting a new survey investigating if there is a difference between how the vocational rehabilitation needs of people with mental illness are being met by occupational therapists and vocational rehabilitation specialists. The aim of the work is to develop an in depth understanding of the interventions used to meet client needs in the field of vocational rehabilitation in order to inform further research and support service development.
